My Approach

I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore, process, and heal from the issues they are experiencing.  I welcome people of all backgrounds, circumstances, appearances, orientations, and creeds to join in the therapeutic process.  My hope is that clients will leave counseling having a renewed sense of self-determination and confidence to face the issues they are experiencing and find their own strengths and tools to heal on their own in the future.

Kate Burnett, LCSW

Founder

I am an Arkansas Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 13 years of experience. I studied psychology at Hendrix College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and later earned a Master of Social Work degree from Saint Louis University.  During my time in Saint Louis I worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence doing individual counseling, court advocacy, and crisis intervention.  I lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for a year after graduating from SLU and worked in community mental health.  I returned to my native roots in Little Rock, Arkansas where I became a full-time therapist at Southwest EAP and worked extensively with individuals, couples, and families to resolve and improve issues in their lives. I opened Hillcrest Therapy Center in 2017 and have been practicing privately ever since. I have experience working with clients facing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, life transitions, feeling stuck, family conflicts, intimate partner violence, and relationship issues.
